Blood and blood components (erythrocytes and plasma etc.) are used to reduce blood loss during surgery or in situations with massive blood loss due to trauma.

We impose standards on the quality and safety of blood and blood components.

Only blood banks which are regularly supervised by the Danish Health and Medicines Authority may collect blood and process blood components.
